Soundous is a first generation immigrant and settler currently residing on the unceded territory of the Musqueam peoples.
Her passion for social justice work was sparked by the allies that supported her through her education and early career journeys. Her work in global health, youth activism and Indigenous education outreach drive her passion for elevating the voices of marginalized communities.
Kale is a settler born on Siksikaitsitapii territory, and is now living on stolen Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh territory. She is a white, queer, disabled activist who is passionate about building community.
She has been an equity and diversity facilitator for seven years, first working with the University of British Columbia Equity & Inclusion Office in 2014, presenting Positive Space Campaign workshops. Her experience as a presenter goes beyond facilitating for hundreds of staff and students at UBC. She has been invited to both keynote and speak at conferences, as well as present at Harvard. She is also the founding director the non-profit, the Vancouver Sex Positive Society and it’s annual conference, Converge Con, which she hosts every year and has also presented at.
She started volgging in 2016, and her first YouTube channel has four thousand subscribers and over 200K views. She recently started a new YouTube channel for Humanize Consulting, where she can talk about social justice topics that she is passionate about.
These days she is focused on taking her experience in facilitation and knowledge of gender, sexuality, disability justice and anti-racism work to the wider community. Her absolute favourite thing is reading – feel free to check out her reading list. She loves talking about books!
